CRC Spektrum New Years Dash 2013 Coverage

With 4 hours to kill between rounds we hit Denny’s on Sat night between round 2 and 3. I thought I’d share a shot of Jarodd’s Hobbit Hole. They were out of both Turkey and Shire Sausage, so this was one of the few Hobbit Menu items you could still order. I was not brave enough and built my own Slam.

CRC brings a fully stocked hobby shop with them, including most pan car items you could ever want. Check out that Pinion selection!! Best 64p pinions out there too I think.

CRC this year had a ton more trophies. They had top 3 in almost all mains! That’s awesome!

They still had the super nice Acrylic awards for the A-Mains as well.

Overall we had a great time. It’s a grueling weekend for sure. Especially since we don’t stay within 5 minutes (it’s just as easy for us to drive the 30-40 minutes home and back). Early mornings and late nights make for a tired racer. Bring the Red Bull and you’ll be ok though.

CRC like all their events wasted no time between heats and rounds and moved the show along as quickly as possible. With 39 heats per round we ended up with about a 4 hour break between runs. This was rough only running one class. We ended up over thinking stuff. We’d change something on our car, overthink it, and change it again before even running it. This is what happens when a racer has too much time on his hands. Maybe next year we will run two classes.. or go see a movie lol.

We’ll see everyone next year.
