So Saturday night it started to rain… They called it quits during the middle of the 3rd qualifier. We packed up and left for home. We returned to the track at 8:30 AM to find a water-logged track with more rain on the way. We figured it was a doomed repeat of last year (where the mains were cancelled and awards were given based on qualifying).

The tough race crowd held out though, and even though we didn’t start until almost 2pm, Frank and crew found a way to get the mains in. The track dried and became very good. They had to cancel the 4th qualifier and switch from Qual points to rocket round qualifying and we went right into the mains. Everyone was happy we’d actually get to run the event this year. We toughed it out.

Mr. Dave Ellen tried to lend a helping hand in getting the track dried out with his little fan. One of the many things he did to win the LOL award for the weekend. Ha! Thanks for the laughs buddy.

Now onto podium shots! This was a bit chaotic, everyone was ready to leave after the weather and the usual toll a 2 day race weekend has on you. Some folks left and aren’t pictured at all, some have mixed up awards in hand, and all of them were shot inside CRC’s shop which is undergoing major renovations. So, sorry for the mess. These aren’t in any particular order.
