Traxxas Slash 4×4 LCG Build – Shining Star Chassis

Next up we’ll work on the center diff. This RTR truck came with the slipper assembly, but I picked up the center diff separately. You need to leave the two bottom screws a little loose at first so you can get the diff in the bearing.

Slide the driveshaft onto the front drive then slide it over the center diff, before tightening the center diff screws

When you go to slide the rear on, you might have to spin both rear tires a bit to get the splines to line up

Put the two front screws into the rear gearcase but leave them slightly loose for now

Before we go any further, we’re going to pull out the center diff mount screws one at a time and throw a dab of RED Loctite on them. Thats right, I said RED Loctite.

Line up your top center plate

We’ll start with the two screws in the back into the shock tower

And the two in the front shock tower

There is a center support post. We’re going to temporarily put a screw in it to help hold things together as we work through the build

Two screws through the steering posts, and we can start tightening them all up

Get that tube of red Loctite ready, and use a dab on the steering post screws
