Hangin with Hobbico at Motorama

Motorama has come and gone. It feels like we were there just yesterday. I’m posting this extremely late due to illness but it’s obviously still worth sharing. A full event recap is coming next, this portion is exclusively covering our interaction with the Hobbico team. As you will see, we have a LOT of photos with them, and we feel it is worth it’s own post. This primarily covers the flight team and their spectacular demos they put on for the crowd, both outside the main doors when people were entering the show, as well as inside the area before the main events.

Let’s meet some of the team. There’s probably no better way than thru video and audio, so here’s that first.

Here’s a little interview segment we let our intern Kris Button do.

Brad Brucker, Lead Service Tech @ Hobbico was also on one of our Motorama Podcasts. Dan Landis and Nick Maxwell are on the Day 1 Motorama Podcast.

Here’s the man with the plan, Scott Cramer. He’s the Hobbico Team Manager.

Then we have Nick Maxwell, one of the best r/c heli pilots in the world. He technically doesn’t work for Hobbico, but he’s Futaba sponsored and travels around to put on a show for people.

This is one of his helicopters he did demos with. I believe it’s the Thunder Tiger E325.

Then we have Dan Landis. He’s a Futaba team pilot as well and is the master of all things winged. Planes are his thing. In our interview he told us how his skills actually got him a job with the government as a UAV pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan. How cool is that?

Then we have Mr. Brad Brucker. He’s the lead service tech at Hobbico. He manages the dept. that you send parts in for repair, be it Axial, Duratrax, Arrma, etc. Great guy.
