Team Durango DESC210R Kit Build Up

Are those diff balls ?? They sure are. Remember back in the 1st couple of paragraphs I talked about how the instructions lacked any written words?  For the most part you could get by with just following the exploded views. Well this is one step where written instructions would of been nice, very nice in fact. I am going to link you to a video for the diff build as there are things that you need to know that the you just don’t get from the exploded view. I don’t want you realizing you built the diff wrong a couple times in a row like I did. I hope Durango makes changes to at least this part of the manual. I do believe they realized that written instructions were needed for this step and that’s why they made the video and web page for the diff.

Here is the link to the page with written instructions, pics and a video:

The finished diff thanks to the video on Team Durango’s site.

Onto the transmission.

This transmission is pretty cool. You have the choice of running it rear motor with 3 internal gears, rear motor with 4 gears, mid motor with 3 gears or mid motor with 4 gears. In this pic you can see the 3 idler gears. Two of the gears you use together for either of the 4 gear option tranny set ups. Then you have the one large one for the 3 gear set up in either rear or mid style. The 4 gear transmission as I understand it allows you to alter the torque orientation of the motor and allows for more rear bite.

Here you can see the case is molded to except two different size idlers. You also have two choices for the idler shaft  hole. The above hole is used if you are using the two idlers that are the same size for the four gear set ups.

Gears installed. I am building my transmission rear motor 4 gear.

Tranny halves together.
