Project Overkill: RJ Speed Digger

Here’s a shot of the front end parts.

Below is the kingpin. It has a smooth and threaded section. First you install a regular nut that butts up against the front end plate, then you install the locknut.

Next we install the stub axles into the steering knuckle. It gets press fit into the knuckle.

Anywhere there were spinning parts, I made sure to lubricate. You can use any sort of differential grease you like, but I went with some Z-OPT Lite by PPR Slots (not the Heavy that we used in our CC-01 build). It’s still very slick, and prevents corrosion, it just doesn’t have the same thickness as the Heavy stuff.. which is good for something like this that will go fast.
