Tamiya Mitsubishi Montero Wheelie Build Up

This is my electronics install. For testing anyways, final install is much cleaner. As with all of my 1/10 scale stuff, the included stock ESC was immediately given Traxxas High Current connectors to match all my batteries. Something to note about this ESC, is that it has 2 wires coming off it. One is your normal wire that plugs into the receiver, the other plugs into the battery/auxiliary slot on your receiver. The battery plug was a bit too thick, so I had to shave it down a little with a hobby knife.

This is the rear axle. A wheelie bar would normally be installed here, but we’re skipping that step, because this is a PULLER!

I got this hitch from a member of the Radio Controlled Pullers of Central New York club. It’s fairly simple if you wanted to make one yourself.

Here it is mocked up. The top hole on the gearbox does not go all the way through. We need it to, so you need to drill a 1/8″ hole.

Straight down and through, it took all of 1/2 a second to make this through-hole.

Now we’ve got it all bolted up.

Here’s the backside. Note the different offset of the spacers used to keep the hitch perfectly vertical.
