Tamiya CR-01 Land Cruiser Build Up

Here are the completed cantilever/spring retainer assemblies. The spring retainer portion bolts to the chassis rail, while the other pivots on the installed bearings and connects the axle and shock assembly.

The pressed aluminum chassis rails attach to the chassis sideplates with 4 screws per side. The sideplates are notched out for the nuts that go on the reverse side. In the second pic you can see the threadlock being used on the screws. It’s good to threadlock all metal-on-metal contacts.

The cantilever unit attaches to the chassis with 3 screws and uses nylon locking nuts on the reverse side to hold them on.

Here’s both chassis rails with sideplates and cantilevers attached.

These are the parts for the 3 piece upper deck/battery tray. The battery tray is made to fit a standard 6 cell nimh/nicad battery or a 2s lithium polymer.

Here it is bolted together.

When bolted all together, the upper deck is what connects the 2 chassis halves into a single unit.

Awesome build, so detailed I could follow it instead of the instructions!;) I love these trucks and can’t wait to see how it turns out.
