Project Puller: Converting a RJ Speed Digger

What else? Why not a body change? After seeing some of the other Diggers at the last 2 pulls we attended, I loved the look of the truck bodied pullers. I asked some of the guys running them what body that was, and the answer.. Windtunnel Racing. It’s the Windtunnel 1/12th scale “FMT” Mini Truck Lexan body (WT2030). You can buy your own HERE. They are also on Facebook. We got one, and it is AWESOME! Obviously it wasn’t meant for this application and requires trimming to fit.

Here you’ll see where I roughed out the cut lines. I started low and kept trimming it in small sections until it fit. Better to cut too little than too much at once.

All mounted. As you can see, the stock body mounts are not long enough for this body. We’ll need to replace those with longer ones.

I had these laying around in my pit box. They are probably at least 5 years old, but they are long enough to work. They actually ended up being too long and I had to trim them down and drill new body clip holes.

OK.. so now we are officially mounted up.

So where are you guys attaching the sled to the diggers? I pull and think this would be an awesome cheap class to start. I have prob 4 of these chassis already. Thanks

We just use the wheelie bar. I still need to cut out the spot in the body for access though.

Are there other wheels and tires there using like a tlt wheel and tire? Sorry for all the questions but I think this would be a good class to add to ours . Just doing some homework before I suggest us adding this class.
