Atomik V2MR 1/10 2WD Buggy Build Up

Now it’s time for the rear suspension components in Bag F.

P1080912

Here’s everything that’s in the bag. Arms, rear hubs, hinge pins and hardware.

P1080913

Ball studs installed.

P1080914

Rear hubs installed onto the rear suspension arms. The rear hubs look pretty beefy. They should hold up to some abuse.

P1080916

Now we’ll mount the arm assemblies to the rear chassis plate.

P1080917

This thing is starting to look like a buggy!

P1080918

Then we drop in the transmission and bolt it in.

P1080919 P1080920

Time for the rear of the rear suspension. Here we have the rear shock tower, rear camber plate/bulkhead, and wing mounts.

P1080921

Let’s attach the wing mounts to the rear shock tower and the upper shock mounting screws as well.

P1080922

That was easy.

P1080923

Next up, ball studs on the rear camber plate.

P1080924

Attach the shock tower to the camber plate/rear bulkhead.

P1080925

Last set of turnbuckles!! Some CVD’s too.

P1080927

Cake. We got this.P1080928

The CVD’s go together like any other, so I didn’t get shots of that. I put them together with a dab of Associated Black Grease to keep them smooth.

P1080929

Now it’s time to install them all (rear tower/bulkhead, CVD’s and Camber links).

P1080930 P1080931 P1080932 P1080933

Lastly we top it off with this little guy. It’s a brace from the rear shock tower to the transmission.

P1080934

I had to loosen the one wing mount to get this in.

P1080936 P1080937

Installed!

P1080938

Now we put in the motor guard.

P1080939

Then the ESC mounting plate.

    Kevin,

I am really impressed with the time and attention to detail you took to do such a complete build-up of our new V2MR buggy. Looking forward to reading your next commentary on the buggy.
