Atomik V2MR 1/10 2WD Buggy Build Up

Only a few things left to do and then it’s off to Jarodd’s Pro-Shop for a glance over, electronics install, and final prep for it’s first big race (which was actually a few races ago now).

We chose the Savox SC-1257TG servo for this build. So far Savox has been flawless in my SC10 and Slash 4×4 RCE Conversion, so we thought it would be fitting to try a different model. We chose the 1257 because it’s speedy and we didn’t need as much torque as the 1258. We also attempted to use the Racers Edge aluminum servo horn, but ran into clearance issues. The ballstud didn’t have enough offset and bound up the steering linkage. We’ll have to use the horn on another build down the road.

Here it is unboxed. I love me some Savox orange.

Failed servo horn attempt. Ignore this. It looks good though right?

Servo mounts attached.P1080970

2 screws hold the servo in from the bottom.P1080971

All mounted up (still wrong servo horn, Jarodd had to swap it out when I gave it to him). If you pay close attention to this and the final photos you will see the gap between the horn and the steering rack upper mount is much closer in the final pics. This allows the steering link to move a lot freer. This way it bound up.

Now we make the steering link.P1080974 P1080976

No pic of it complete, I was too excited to get this thing into Jarodd’s hands for the esc, etc. Here’s the final pics as it left my table though.
