Caster Racing EX1.5R Buggy – Build

Finally! The last bag! Bag M! In bag M, we’ll mount the rear wing

First up is to assemble the wing towers

There are a total of 4 screws that hold the wing stay tower to the buggy, all through the rear shocktower. Two thread from the back to the front

and two from the front. These get nuts held inside the wing stay tower

To mount the wing itself, we had to drill holes in the wing. We lined it up by eye, making sure it was centered. They give you a grid etched in the bottom of the wing so it was easy to match both sides

There is a metal collar that sits on top of the wing, and two screws hold it down

And here she is! As far as the kit itself is concerned, that’s it! You have to glue up the tires and bolt them on. You have to supply your own ESC and motor (we’ll get to that in the next page). But this is as far as the book takes you.

For 2012, Caster Racing has started including prepainted bodies with the EX1.5R. Here’s what came with mine. I’ll be picking up a clear body so I can put the Soup treatment on her for racing season

These are the tires that come with the kit. GIANT lugs on them. Most definitely geared towards loose traction surfaces. We’ll find out what works at our track and throw a set of those on here come race season.

These foams are pretty stiff
