Serpent Cobra 811 B-e 2.0 1/8 E-buggy Build

Of course, being “Mr. Last Minute” as Geo calls me, I ended up having to mount my tires at the track. The day job and the tight schedule gave me no time to do this before race day. Since the track is still pretty loamy and blown out from still being last years layout, I decided to run the bigger pin tires, the JConcepts Stackers first. I’ll run the Hybrids after the track rebuild right before Pro Series.

Gluing them up I pretty much followed our normal gluing procedure. Check out our previous How To article.

Now they’re ready to go. The yellow of the Mono Max-ups wheels didn’t photograph well, but they look really nice.

I then handed the buggy to Team Soup driver Jarodd for some quick and basic setup tweaking (camber adjustment, ride height, etc). He’s our resident Pro of sorts and has years of Buggy racing experience.

And now with the body mounted and trimmed (again, special thanks to Tom’s Custom Paint Werks for getting this done on time!!). I think the car turned out awesome. Once I get some more wheel time on it I will let you know what I think. So far I’ve run 2 club races with it, and I’m pretty impressed. The motor actually has too much power, I had to dial some of the power out. The CRC lipos make for amazing punch and runtime. The steering is precise and steady. So far I’m loving everything that went into this build! I cannot wait to hit the track now.
